Hello everyone, today I’m doing a Invicta 6981 watch review. Invicta were founded in Switzerland back in 1837 and have been creating quality timepieces every since. The Invicta 6981 happens to be one of their most popular models at the moment, which is why I decided I would feature it today. If you like large, chunky, oversized, luxurious feeling watches then this may well be the watch for you.

My Initial Thoughts On The Invicta 6981
If you’re after a large chunky watch that is bound to get noticed you really can’t go far wrong with this Invicta 6981. It’s an absolutely stunning watch with an easy to read luminous display and a rather interesting use of the exposed date feature. Everything is set out to give that luxury feel from the gold plated stainless steel casing to the Swiss quartz movement.
Whilst you’ve probably noticed it’s called a pro diver, it’s water resistance is to 100m standard. This means it’s suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkelling, sailing and water sports. Note that you wouldn’t be able to go scuba diving with this rating.
It’s easy to see why the Invicta 6981 has been quite so popular, offering this oversized luxury feel at an affordable price point is bound to get people excited about buying one, but let’s take a look at the watch parts in more detail below.
Type of glass
The Invicta 6981 features a durable specially hardened mineral glass. This type of glass offers a good level of protection against scratches and is what I would expect to see on a watch in this price range. If you do manage to get any scratches they can often be buffed out fairly simply.
Size
I mentioned earlier on how this Invicta was a large watch, it’s casing diameter is 48mm which is classed as an extra large and will definitely get noticed on your wrist. The thickness of the case is 17mm, again an extra large offering that chunky feel that a lot of people really love. It’s big, bold and gives you that durable weight to the watch.
Calendar
They’ve gone for an interesting twist on things when it comes to the calendar . It’s a date only display however they’ve exposed a lot of the feature which I think is quite an interesting idea. The date itself is marked with the gold surround, you’ll notice it on the 4 in the picture.
Watch strap and clasp
The strap is made of polyurethane with gold plated stainless steel buckle and detailing. The width of the strap is 26mm which is wider than your average watch but due to the size of the casing this wide strap works a lot better. Many people prefer polyurethane straps when it comes to comfort and I can see where they are coming from, sometimes stainless straps can be a little uncomfortable.
