Hugo Boss 1513223 Watch Review
The first thing we’re going to be taking a look at is the overall dial and case design of this Hugo Boss watch. The casing and strap of the watch are made of ceramic. This became quite fashionable in recent years but they do tend to cost a lot more than standard watches. Ceramic watches tend to be stronger and lighter than traditional stainless steel and also give a very smooth highly polished finish.
The dial features this popular all black design that many people are looking for right now. It’s extremely stylish and can go with many outfits either smart or casual, but it isn’t that practical. You’ll understandably find it a little difficult to read the time on occasions due to the black hands and hour markers on top of a black dial. There is a small date display at the 6 o’clock position which due to the white numerals is easy to read.
1513223 Type Of Crystal
This watch features a specially hardened mineral crystal glass. This type of glass is extra resistant to scratches and knocks. It also has the added benefit of being quite shatter resistant, unlike sapphire crystal glass.
1513223 Watch Movement
At the heart of the watch is a quartz movement. Quartz movements are often used for their reliability and accuracy. These basic quartz movements are also affordable which normally helps keep the overall cost of the watches down.
1513223 Watch Size
This model has a nice large 43mm casing diameter giving you quite a big dial to read. The casing has a thickness of 10mm which means it’s about a medium size, not too chunky nor too slim either. It’s built with the mass market in mind so they’re trying to go for the most popular size.
Hugo Boss 1513223 Strap
Like the casing, the strap of the 1513223 is made of ceramic. This makes it nice and lightweight but you do have to make sure you don’t drop the watch as they can be susceptible to shattering. The strap fastens with a double locking push button deployment clasp, these tend to be my favourite style as I find them very easy to operate and they keep everything looking very flush.

As I mentioned earlier on, the only extra feature is the date display function located at the 6 o’clock position.
1513223 Water Resistance Rating
There isn’t a whole lot to say about the water resistance rating on this watch, it isn’t that great. A 30m water resistance rating or 3 bar is suitable for everyday use. Splash/rain resistant. Not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkelling, water related work and fishing.

My Final Thoughts On This Hugo Boss 1513223 Review:
I do really love the style of this watch but I’d still say it’s quite expensive considering the parts. The main part bumping the price up is the ceramic build which is understandable. I like the dial design if you plan on wearing this watch just for the look rather than actually attempting to make much use out of it as let’s be honest, once it’s dark you haven’t got much chance. Overall, I’d be pretty tempted by it, though. If you’re after this style of watch with the all black finish then you sometimes have to take the extra flaws that come with it.
