Casio W-800H-1AVES Watch Review
This is a well build durable timepiece from Casio. The sports watch has a durable resin wrapped around the main casing for extra protection and strength. The caseback of the watch is screwed down and shows the stainless steel casing. The dial of this Casio timepiece is quite large and easy to read in my opinion. There is a back light function available although it’s not the brightest and only lasts for about 2 seconds at a time.
W-800H-1AVES Type Of Crystal
Protecting the dial of this timepiece is an acrylic plastic window lens. This is a very basic type of lens that has its own benefits and disadvantages. The main disadvantage is how easily the screen can scratch, on the plus side though most scratches can easily be buffed out with the right technique. It’s a lens that’s often found on either cheaper or more traditionally built watches.
W-800H-1AVES Watch Movement
Powering the watch is a Japanese quartz movement. This is a reliable movement that offers a good level of accuracy for the price. The accuracy of this movement is approximately +/- 30 seconds per month. The watch also features newly developed electronics which ensure a significantly lower energy consumption meaning that 1 battery can give the watch up to 10 years on life, very impressive stuff.
W-800H-1AVES Watch Size
This timepiece from Casio is a bit bigger than many of the other retro styled watches we’ve featured recently. The casing diameter measures 37mm and has a thickness of 14mm. This is a pretty good size for a watch in my opinion, not too large nor too small by any means.
Casio W-800H-1AVES Strap
The strap of the watch is made of a sturdy plastic resin that’s comfortable and tough. It’s roughly 18mm wide which is in keeping with the rest of the sizing of the watch. The strap fastens with a standard buckle style clasp with ‘Casio’ on the catch.
Casio W-800H-1AVES Extra Features
This sports model from Casio features a selection of handy extras. These include a LED light to illuminate the watch face. Second time zone display which can be set for a time zone of your choice. A stop watch function with 1/100 seconds up to 24 hour measurement.
Multi alarm, one of these alarms is a snooze alarm. This clock has the perfect alarm for any type of appointment. The model is equipped with a total of four repeat alarms: 1. Daily alarm, sounds at the same time each day, 2. Date alarm, e.g. to help you remember birthdays, 3. Monthly alarm, sounds on the same day at the same time each month, 4. Alarm for every day of a particular month.
Automatic calendar which will always display the correct date, on traditional watches you have to manually adjust the date to account for the varying amount of days in each month.
W-800H-1AVES Water Resistance Rating
This Casio watch also has a very good water resistance rating of 100. The 100m or 10 bar rating makes this watch suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports.

Overall this is a great choice for those seeking a daily wearer for either work or general use. The resin build makes it a durable timepiece that can withstand most day to day tasks. Along with the 100m water resistance rating this is a great watch for those who work outdoors. You get a highly function tough watch for a very affordable price, it’s hard to argue with that to be honest.
