Casio Edifice Men’s Watch EQB-500D Review.
Hello, today I’m doing a Casio Edifice EQB-500D review. Casio may be known for their affordable cheaper watches, but their pricier Edifice collection is well worth checking out. Today I’m looking at the EQB-500D-1AER which is a Bluetooth linked solar chronograph timepiece.

At the bottom of the article, I’ll show you some of my recommended places to buy this watch from
The Edifice collection of watches has grown and grown in popularity lately, they’re considered more of a luxurious choice compared to Casio’s normal selection of watches but they’re definitely worth looking at in more detail.

This model features a smartphone Bluetooth link that opens up an impressive selection of extra features. Linking the watch provides you with access to the correct time in up to 300 cities around the world. It also allows you to set your watch alarm and control extra functions from the smartphone to provide you an enhanced experience with your timepiece. You can find all the extra details about this here, plus a list of all devices that currently work with the watch.
The watch has this really superb bold design that stands out on your wrist, you have the ability to display two world time zones at the same time on the watch.
Another brilliant feature that I’ve always liked to promote is the use of Solar tech in a watch, this means the watch powers itself from the sun and other light sources to continuously power itself.
Movement
The EQB-500D uses a Japanese Quartz movement that’s powered by the tough solar technology. Quartz movements are known for their reliability and level of accuracy.
Type of glass
They’ve gone for a mineral crystal glass for the watch, this is something I’m quite happy with, to be honest. Mineral glass offers some of the best shatter resistance while offering a good level of scratch resistance.
Size
It’s fair to say this watch has a pretty large finish to it, making it a standout timepiece on your wrist. The casing has a diameter of 48mm which is classed as a large watch, whilst the thickness is 14mm which makes it a little chunky.
Calendar
There’s a day and date display that’s nicely set out on the watch dial. The date uses a black background to blend in with the rest of the dial and has a white outline to make it stand out.
Watch strap and clasp
The strap is made of stainless steel and uses a standard fold over clasp with double push release. I find the push release straps a lot easier to operate that a standard clasp. The width of the strap is 20mm which is considered a standard size.
Water Resistance:
The water resistance rating is a sensible 100m also known as 10ATM. 100m water resistance makes it suitable for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports.

I’ll admit it’s been a pretty impressive watch, but I’ve come to expect that from the Casio Edifice range. The EQB-500D has some great features like the dual time display, solar power, and of course the Bluetooth technology. You can view a more in depth Casio Edifice review here.
Casio has a long history of providing quality and value for money and I’d say they’ve done another brilliant job with this timepiece.
