Today I’ve put together a Ben Sherman watches review for you. Ben Sherman are a well known affordable fashion brand in the United Kingdom – most notably known for their shirts. They’re known for producing a wide range of clothing and accessories at reasonable prices.

The History Of Ben Sherman Watches
Arthur Benjamin Sugarman founded Ben Sherman in 1963. The son of a saleman, he was born in Brighton (just down the road from our headquarters) and emigrated to the United States in 1946. He went on to change his nationality to American and later married the daughter of a Californian clothes producer. By 1963 he had moved back to his roots in Brighton and established his shirt factory at 21 Bedford Square.
The Ben Sherman brand was a hit and over the years has continued to grow, moving with the current culture and adapting to the relevant styles to stay on top.

As an affordable watch brand the majority of Ben Sherman watches are manufactured in Asia, normally China. Like many other affordable and even some designer watch brands – this helps them to keep the costs down.

As a larger fashion brand Ben Sherman do keep a good eye on their quality control. Their watches are well build for the price but do tend to involve cheaper components. When you’re paying under £50 for a watch you can’t really expect the inner workings of a £500 Swiss made Hamilton watch sadly.

Ben Sherman are a very affordable fashion brand when it comes to watches. You can typically find the majority of their range available for under £50. They’re an excellent brand of watches for teenagers as they look stylish and are relatively inexpensive.

Is Ben Sherman A Good Brand?
Ben Sherman have an excellent reputation having survived as a household name brand since the 60s. They’re best known for the affordable, well made shirts which were the foundation of the company they are today. Their watches are respected enough, for an affordable brand you’re getting a fairly good deal with them. For under £50 you’re getting good value for money in my opinion.
Are Ben Sherman Watches Any Good?
If you’re looking for a stylish yet inexpensive watch then Ben Sherman should be considered. They’re well built with a rather huge selection of styles available so there’s a good chance you’ll find something you like.
If you’re wondering if Ben Sherman watches are good value for money then I’d have to say yes. I think they’re well suited for a younger audience that’s more concerned with the look of a timepiece rather than the inner workings. Another option for value for money would be the Seiko 5 collection – they might not be considered as stylish but the builds and inner workings are certainly higher quality.

For number 4 we simply have a colour variation of the previous watch. It features the same simple dial design with a quartz movement and 30m water resistance rating. Between the two I’d personally go for the previous watch, that’s just more my style though.

For number 5 we have this minimalist timepiece with these long slim baton style hour markers. The rounded casing measures 43mm with a case thickness of 11mm. The band is made of a soft genuine leather that fastens with a standard buckle style clasp. I love this fantastic blue colouring of the dial. A nice and simple, easy to read watch with a quartz movement and 30m water resistance rating.

I love these mesh style straps, I find them to be really comfortable and pretty easy to operate and change the length of. This is another Ben Sherman watch with a rectangular style casing, maybe not for everyone but I rather like it myself. Overall a very classy looking timepiece that’s idea for those who want a smarter looking finish. It has a quartz movement and 30m water resistance rating.

In number 7 we having something a little bit different with this oversized cuff style leather strap watch. These have proved quite popular and actually come in a selection of colours. There’s a colour alternative to this model with a brown leather strap that a lot of people also seem to like. It features a quartz movement and a 30m water resistance rating. Overall I love the sturdiness you get with this style of watch.

I really like the large clear display on this timepiece, the hands stand out very well against the black background of the dial. There’s also a 3 chronograph subdials on display as well as a tachymeter around the outer ring of the dial.
Powering this Ben Sherman watch is a reliable and accurate quartz chronograph movement. A mineral crystal glass lens helps to protect the front of the watch from scratches and shattering. This Ben Sherman chronograph watch also has the added benefit of a 50m water resistance rating.
